Sin’s affect on the weather… wait, what?

I feel that in today’s world the church faith as a whole has been fading. We seem to be taking less and less of the bible literally as time goes on, forcing more and more of scripture into allegory and poetry with each passing generation.

Matthew 8:26-27He said to them, “Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

The other week on a Wednesday night at church we were going through one of the chapters in 2 Samuel and came to a part about the sins one man and the affect they had on others. We talked about how our sin affects our loved ones, our friends, our spouses… etc. What I noticed apart from the study (which was an amazing study) was that God allowed the famine because of sin. The reason for this famine was a result of the sins of Saul in particular.

2 Samuel 21:1Now there was a famine in the days of David for three years, year after year; and David inquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, “It is because of Saul and his bloodthirsty house, because he killed the Gibeonites.”

Famine

Later in the end of the chapter the famine ends, bringing rain after 3 years once the sins had been brought to justice through some specific means (in this case, the death of Saul’s sons as retribution)Luckily my sins have already been brought to justice through the retribution of Christ.

What I am getting at is this…

Our sins affect more than just ourselves and those around us. Sin also affects the weather. Now, it today’s world of “higher thinking and science” this sounds absurd. But, honestly think on it for just a moment.

The 40 days of rain which caused the flood was a result of sin. The massive balls of rock that fell from the sky in Godom and Gomorrah were a result of sin. Famine was a result of sin. In Revelation, the sun burning hotter to the point of pain is a result of sin. Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind… it just goes on and on.

With all of that said, I go back to the first verse I shared in this post. Jesus clearly demonstrates his power over the weather by calming the seas while on a boat. God is really above us. Jesus really is building a place. And he really is coming back down here one day.

Now… who are we kidding, right? I clearly am ignorant.

The answer here is global warming and “climate change“. Sin has nothing to do with it.

Snow in central Texas… signs of the times

unnamed

I haven’t seen this much snow since I was on tour and like three foot of snow fell over night in Ohio, causing a few of my tour dates to cancel. Regardless, we made the best of the canceled shows by spending time playing in the snow. With that, this was no different.

The times, and the weather… they are a changin’.

NASA is playing god… says BBC

You may have to put on your tinfoil hat for this one. I am in no way suggesting that this is actually what is going on. But rather, I am merely proposing that it could be a possibility. And honestly, the fact that NASA is in part of this post is actually a total coincidence. Apparently they shoved a bunch of people out of their homes (for a price of course). As a result NASA ended up with 125,000 acres of square land in the middle of nowhere to do what they want with no one around to question what they are doing.

It’s a cloud making machine!

NASA is literally controlling the weather. They are playing God by making their own weather.

With that in mind… do I honestly need to keep writing, or can you follow where I am headed with this post?

If NASA has enough power that they can force people out of their homes so as to modify the weather unsupervised… then who are we to suggest that something like Hurricane Harvey isn’t intentional as well?

Now, considering how old this BBC episode is… there is no telling how much this type of technology has developed. I also find it ironic that the beginning of this video suggests that the reason that NASA is out there is to test rocket engines. And yet… the type of results they get from such a machine would lead the average person to still believe that all they are doing is testing rockets.

With all of that said, is it possible that NASA was the cause of the 2011 flooding while managing to go unpunished?

Obviously, I am ignorant and I need to quit wearing a tinfoil hat. I think it might end up causing me to have a seizure if I wear it for too long.
