Reviewing the Revelation Sign some more

Well, as I stated in my last post, I haven’t been able to set this Revelation sign down for some reason.  I just keep looking at it and toward what potential signs might be in the sky that match what the bible has to say regarding that sign. With that, here is a quick update on what I have found.

First, I covered a good chunk of verses 1 through 3 in previous posts, which leads me to verse 4.

Revelation 12:4 – And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

So, basically in short, Draco the dragon constellation is going to be the cause of a meteor shower on October 7th.  Exactly fifteen days after the great wonder in heaven, we have a dragon casting down stars.

Another cool thing that I noticed in this article is that the Harvest moon is mentioned. Not only is the Harvest moon tonight, and it will be huge and orange, but… I particularly like what it represents. Not only will this be the first in almost a decade, but it essentially symbolizes a time when the harvest is ripe and ready to be plucked from the earth (the bride perhaps?). Before the advent of electricity, laborers would work through the night on a harvest moon collecting the harvest since the moonlight was so bright. Its light is so bright that it allowed them to visibly work through the night collecting the fruits of their labor.

Mathew 9:37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few (here Jesus is talking about spreading the gospel and growing the fold).

Is God telling us something?

Is it possible that the Revelation 12 events are still unfolding before us in the heavens right now. Could God be telling us that the harvest is ready and that soon Satan will be cast down and given just a short while?

Regardless of what God’s timing ends up being, I am still watching and hopeful.

Something exciting is happening. I can just feel it.

Then again, I’m probably just ignorant.

Signs of the Times and the end of the world

Over the course of the last two weeks I have been amerced in the quote “signs of the times“, as I am sure many other Christians have been doing. It has been a roller coaster to say the least. The ups and downs of anxiety, excitement, disappointment, and urgency have left me with a frenzy of varying expectations.

As the great wonder in heaven approached us between September 21st and the 23rd (Revelation 12:1-2) I found myself amerced in the bible trying to figure out the so called signs of the times. This last few weeks I have found myself feeling like those disciples as they asked Jesus face to face when the end would come and how to tell when it was happening.

Mathew 24:3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

After this verse we find Jesus spitting out a huge laundry list of things that would hint toward the second coming and the end of the world. As the great wonder in heaven came and went and I was left to my vises perplexed with awe and wonder on September 24th, I began to dig even deeper into the bible for answers. For a short while I continued to find myself digging deeper into the Jewish calendar and the different festivals and feasts in an attempt to discern the times. Things like the fact that this year marks the 120th Jubilee, or 6,000th biblical year. Or the fact that the day of Atonement is exactly 40 days after the Great American Eclipse (also known as Yom Kippur). There are just so many amazing things lining up here that I could literally go on and on and on and on about it.

But, I decided to stop… because I realized something. And here’s why…

Luke 12:56Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

In the bible we are presented with a vast people intelligent enough to commit the entire Old Testament to memory. These people knew the Torah front and back as if it were sown into the back of their eyelids. And yet, the Pharisees of that day and most of the Jews of that time (including today) were expecting something different. They were taking a more literal approach to the Old Testament prophecies about the coming king that would save. They were expecting a king that would rise to power rather than a king that would die and rise to glory. To be blunt, the people who spent their lives injecting the Torah into their brains like meth missed the mark when it came to the prophecies surrounding the birth, death, burial, and resurrection of their coming king.

Now, taking that into context for today, how does that make us as Christians any different?

As this great wonder of the Revelation 12 sign was ready to appear so many of us rushed to the aid of those old tactics of the Pharisees by trying to tie everything Jesus said and did alongside the prophecies of his second coming.

How does doing this not make us just like them?

Is it possible that there is another meaning that seems like it wouldn’t make sense to us just as it did in the days of Christ’s ministry on the earth?

With this type of mindset I stepped away from the prophecies, Jubilees, Feast days, festivals, and global events with the realization that the second time around might very well be just as subtle and misinterpreted as the first time around.

With that, shortly after, I stumbled into this following video. Although I will admit that I don’t claim to agree entirely… I find it rather peculiar that what is being said here lines up with some of what has been on my heart for the last few days. Despite the fact that some of what is mentioned here might place you outside of your comfort zone regarding the rapture and the second coming of Christ… one can’t help but take it all in and ponder the possibilities.

With all of that said, I am absolutely certain that the first two verses of Revelation 12 have been fulfilled (which proves that the time is at hand). The real question now is what we plan to do about it. Because, at the end of it all… this event will come on you like a thief in the night. Unless of course, if you are awake.

Revelation 3:3Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

In short; if you are watching… he will not come on you as a thief and you will know the hour that he comes. And, is it possible that we are under thinking it by over complicating it?

Although I in no way claim to have any of this stuff figured out… my encouragement to you all is to stay watchful. We are in the midnight hour. The bridegroom is coming. Don’t run out of oil. Keep your lamp burning.
